I am lost configuring my XRV.
Hallo my Pev.dev frends!
Im a Total newbie. Thank you so much for your fantastic site.
Completed the installation of the Kit on my board with CBXR Battery connected the board to my Android VESC app version 6.02 and made a backup Decided to start a from 0, I reflashed the firmware 6.2 and Followed the Howto setup my board docuement from The VESC bible on notion site and the YT videos from Mario Contino and Surfdado.
Tested the bord I was not satisfied at all.
Deciced to reinstall the backup But
Forget to unthik the option on the playstore, overnight, the VESC app has been autoupdate to V 6.05. Uninstalled 6.05 and reinstalled V 6.02 with Refloat package. Doing so I lost the backup…
Found here on Pev.dev how to recover the original XRV Motor App Float Cfg uploading the 3 XML file (Floa cfg on Refloatcfg) and redo the IMU and followed the setup guide from the XRV power kit start guide as sugested.
Test the board IT seems ok.
Now i read from floatwheel.com XRV kit page 2 WARNING
DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!
DO NOT USE REFLOAT PACKAGE!
I vflashed firmaware 6.2 and I am using Refloat (with float.cfg uploaded)
I am totally scared and I do not trust my old beloved fantastic XR anymore!
Please Help!
Is the board operating without issue again? Why is it that you’re scared? No matter what, you can always go back. That said, I haven’t seen any major issues occur when updating the firmware or the package. The only issue that has been reported is a potential power off issue and that seems able to be navigated around. So, what’s the fear for exactly?
I am on 6.05. The issue I have is that when starting the Vesc app it will not correctly read the package. The clue for me is that battery cut off voltages will be way low.
This only affects the board if I forget, make a different change and then Write. That will overwrite the lower voltages to the board and on a full charge I will get high voltage tilt back. The workaround is that anytime I want to make a change I first have to click Read.
I usually do this while looking at the tune/specs page and can see the voltages change back to the correct values. Then I can make other tweaks and write. I also am a little leery as I don’t know for sure if those are the only values not getting read. If I forget and I have a 40% battery I will not get the high voltage tilt back as a warning that it was incorrect and maybe there is some other thing that will have a higher consequence.
Thank you all for the reply!
Why am I scared? Because i understand none of the parameter of the VESC app! I am just following passively the advices of you experts and, as i infringed both the warning in capital letter on the XRW webpage in Floatlife of the XRV kit I now am more than scared…
Tony sent me 3 config.xml files and adivise me to: flash 6.2, Install Float package, upload Float.xml Motor.xml and go… but, then, i follows also this

I had the same issue with my Flywheel mode. I got help redoing some setup steps and it’s working great now!
I felt that the pitch wasn’t perfectly level right out of the box. So I’ ve adjusted the Pitch Angle Calibration in the IMU and… https://youtube.com/shorts/YsW3uYGep8Q?feature=share
