Custom Front Footpad Install Guide

The question of how to make a front footpad comes up often, so I made a guide. I recommend plates with all flexible front footpads.

Updated 10/3/2024 with wiring schematics and parts lists for sensor pigtails (all model onewheels).

Wow, such a similar path. I ride XR and started making a KushLo front almost two years ago, in the end used a piece of carbon fibre sheet for the plate. Meanwhile, due to problems myself and others were having, and because I’m a woodworker, a got this brainstorm to ‘make’ my own KushLo out of wood. OMG, this is only the first iteration, and I was out of sensors, so used a GT Sensor from those originals(heh heh)and well, it’s the bomb. I’ll be making more, as some of my friends want them, but, and this is huge, not everyone ‘trusts’ DIY kit. Aoxo

This shot is before I applied Epoxy around the edges and on the cut in the grip tape. Yes I know it looks crappy, it’s a photo type to see how it rides/feels etc. Plus using a sketch sensor pad from a GT I didn’t want to put to much work into it. I ordered grip tape a couple days ago, and am going to use a new sensor for the next one.
