Hi,
I’m in the finishing stages of putting together an XR conversion using a lil focer and a Chi Battery CBSP and am feeling out of my depth. Having blown a flipsky bms (reverse polarity I now know), I bought a (massive) flipsky anti-spark switch, hoping to avoid popping a replacement bms. I knew about the FM polarity trap, but stupidly plugged the anti-spark in without reversing an xt60. I heard a very small pop at the xt60. I’m not even sure if I need to be using an antispark switch like this, or if there’s a better alternative…?
Anyway, I reversed the polarity and plugged the anti-spark switch back in. There’s a zero reading when I try to read voltage on the OUT wires of the switch. Before the switch I get 57.4v. There’s an on/off switch but there’s no change to the 0.0 reading. Have I blown up the anti-spark by plugging it in reversed? (I actually didn’t even plug it in fully, just touched the xt60’s together and pulled them apart when the tiny pop happened. No smoke from the anti-spark) Or does the anti-spark need something else done with it to enable voltage to flow through it? Hard to know when these things don’t really come with instructions.
Ultimately I’d prefer to not use the anti-spark because, while it fits in this build due to the small size of the cbsp, it won’t fit with a larger battery. I have a “small fuse” from a fungineers build which could work with the Maxxgo bms (using xt30 connectors supplied with both)
I’m using an original XR wire harness from FM, mostly because I used the original XR front controller box. If I reverse the polarity before the bms (I have a reversed adapter), does that mean I’ll blow up my lil focer if I plug this same wire harness in (which is now reversed)? Have I been saving my lil focer from being fried by instead frying a bms and now an anti-spark switch?
This shit hurts my brain… Really not sure how to proceed now and don’t really have anyone local to help.
I’ll add a photo for context. Really appreciate any help offered. Thanks
