Anyone know how to diagnose CAN bus connectivity?

I have finally gotten around to building my XRV with a LittleFOCer v4, 84v pack from Indy Speed Control, and Ennoid XLITE-V4-24 BMS. While bench testing I’ve come across two concerns I haven’t been able to resolve.

  1. I cannot see the BMS via the CAN bus scan, only via BLE.

  2. I have never heard the BMS buzzer make a sound.

I have verified the wiring of the CAN bus multiple times, and I performed continuity checks from the solder joint of the LittleFOCer to the harness on the BMS. I have tried changing baud rates from 500K as well.

Watching “TheBoardGarage” he has stated to plug the CAN connector in last, which I believe I have done, but maybe not. NI am also not sure if this is relevant on a v4? He was also referring to an older version. I believe on the v4 that concern was resolved with the BLE and CAN bus being isolated.

Anyone have idea how I can test this? I’m open to using an Arduino or ESP32 to interface with the CAN if someone can point me in the right direction. A CAN tester would be awesome! Maybe a firmware update? I also checked the github, but didn’t see anything for the BMS.

This lack of any buzzer noise and CAN bus has me concerned that the BMS may not be fully “good.”

Also, huge fan of the build quality of the Indy Speed Controls battery pack and how well it integrates with the BMS. And how well it fits into a stock XR battery box. Top notch stuff.
